Job Accountabilities

  • Oversee and manage operations of entire office with a view to achieve both Corporate and local Connor Office’s business growth and objectives, in line with Corp Management’s strategic direction.
  • Target to meet or exceed the volume goals for each business division.
  • Responsible for office’s profit & loss and budget adherence.
  • Build and balance resources to support the growth of business.
  • Stay up to date with the market trends in the region and develop sourcing strategies to capture business opportunities and overcome market threats; communicate market influences to customers.
  • Partner with customers to understand their needs and expectations and translate those needs into practical directives and actions to the local office team.
  • Develop and maintain a commitment to excellence and high-service levels to meet the changing business demands to sustain long term growth and client relationships.
  • Ensure appropriate procedures related to vendor selection, vendors’ technical strengths and weaknesses, production capacities and vendor shipment performances are in place.
  • Prepare annual shipment and expense budget to ensure continuous growth, strive to exceed planned shipments, control expenses and plan manpower efficiently to meet budget.
  • Ensure merchandising teams properly source new factories to meet client needs and complete all pricing/sampling for customers’ buying trips or virtual calls.
  • Oversee both QC and Technical teams to ensure all products routinely and consistently meet acceptable standards required to meet customer expectations.
  • Work closely with QA/Tech leaders to ensure their teams are actively working to trouble-shoot problems and resolve issues.
  • Directly work with factories to improve on their KPI’s and overall performance metrics.
  • Ensure Corporate financial, market and management reports are accurate and submitted on a timely basis.
  • Take a proactive approach with foreseen market changes which may impact sales volume, expenses, profitability, and human resources requirements.
  • Direct and lead subordinates to meet changing business demands for client satisfaction.
  • Supervise, recruit, train, direct and appraise the performance of the section subordinates.
  • Perform additional duties as required meeting Company’s objectives.
  • Liase with clients during in-country visits and ensure customer satisfaction throughout their visit.

Job Requirements

  • Tertiary educated, preferably in business management, merchandising, global sourcing or related disciplines.
  • More than 15 years of sourcing and production experience, preferably with 10 years at senior management position and in a multinational buying/sourcing office or related industry.
  • Background in Furniture and Hardlines, with experience in the home industry is preferable.
  • Strong management and leadership skills.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • In-depth P & L knowledge
  • Good people management skills
  • Sound problem solving skills
  • Immediate availability is highly preferable.
