Job Summary The Assistant Materials Manager position will be based in Batam, Indonesia. As a leader of material planning, you will be responsible by leading a team in generating the materials requirements and ensure their timely availability to support production schedule. You will need to work closely with the Purchasing team to ensure on-time delivery of materials, and also to monitor and ensure optimize inventory levels. To prevent and minimize excesses and shortages situations, you are required work closely with the Procurement, Engineering and Manufacturing to establish and enhance business processes, system tools and strategize material demand/supply requirements. Your responsibility also includes motivating and leading a team of material planners to delivery of Material Planning KOIs. What a typical day looks like:
  • Generate overall material best can do plan by customer base
  • Own and execute to drive E&O and Inventory Targets
  • Enhance tools to support business needs, as example scenario planning for supply response to "Can do" or "What If" on business impacts and based on customer needs
  • Work with PM to ensure that inventory level and turn goals are achieved, including reduction of back orders and enhancing customer service
  • Support MRC meeting
  • Work with PM to position long-term constraints, customer service levels, inventory targets, mitigate forecast fluctuation impact, and backlog clearance management
  • Development and implementation of purchasing and contract management instructions, policies and procedures.
The experience we’re looking to add to our team:
  • At least 5 years of relevant work experience in the similar capacity
  • Troubleshooting and problem solving skills
  • Demonstrates basic functional, technical and people and/or process management skills as well as customer (external and internal) relationship skills.
  • Demonstrates skills in functional/ technical area
  • Use of the following tools may be required: Office Skills: telephones, data entry, office software to include word processing, spreadsheets, presentation package and database systems
