Are you passionate about sustainability, eager to work in social and environmental impact and ready to play a role in a startup organization?
Delterra is a young, fast growing, impact focused non-profit. Our first initiative, Rethinking Recycling, builds integrated waste management and recycling ecosystems in emerging economies in support of circular economies. We are now looking for an entrepreneurial individual with a strong can-do mentality, a highly proactive approach, and excellent communication and coordination skills to support in driving the development of Plastic IQ as our second initiative.

Plastic IQ is an online tool that enables companies to analyze how their packaging strategy affects their plastic and carbon impact and to prioritize circular solutions that reduce plastic use by redesigning packaging for reuse and recycling. The tool leverages industry guidance and data to help users turn their plastic packaging strategy into measurable actions with the ultimate goal of facilitating a data-driven, industry-wide consistent approach to abating the flow of plastic pollution.

A version of Plastic IQ for the United States market was successfully launched in May 2021. In 2022, Delterra will partner with Walmart.org, SystemIQ, the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD), and the PlasticIQ catalyst partners, including corporate and non-profit players, to adapt the tool for use in the global South and beyond, starting with Indonesia and Brazil.

  • Coordinating local Advisory Board and other stakeholders: Work with the Director of Plastic IQ to establish relationships with early adopters and onboard these partners for the Advisory Council in Indonesia. Coordinate user interviews and help to run Advisory Council workshops to ensure rapid development and testing of the tool; sustain and develop relationships with these early adopters of the tool, collecting feedback and driving awareness.
  • Growing the user group: Support in designing long-term user engagement strategy for Plastic IQ in Indonesia, working with your counterpart in Brazil to share learnings and ideas. Work with the Director to realize communication and launch strategy for Plastic IQ international in Indonesia alongside SystemIQ and WBCSD, including marketing, events and stakeholder management.
  • Supporting management of the grant: Partner with regional and global leadership and operational teams to track and oversee local budget, help develop and implement monitoring and evaluation plan, provide information and written updates to assist with grant reporting efforts to Walmart and any other funders over time.
